Heal the World
Heal the World
Being a journalist, Brother Christopher Benedict has the powers of observation and comment. Like a newspaper column, this poem by Chris has a positive spin that seems to be a part of his character.
Heal the World
Musicians and writers want to save the world, but
there doesn’t seem to be enough money or time.
However changes can be effective if we break
problems down into those in each person’s life.
Then, battle by battle, human suffering ends.
as the scars heal with the end of the strife.
Some of the problems faced come naturally,
but most sources seem to be man-made.
Results of problems are real; the problems
are artificial and solutions make them fade
to the point the problems no longer hurt.
Then, only then, the world can be made safe.
Education, prevention, communication and
prevention are the ways to get things done.
With these, and other methods, there is hope
that the individual battles can be won.
Since more damage is inflicted by bullets,
no changes can be forced by violence or guns.
On this big earth, there seems to be many worlds
each complete with it’s own environment.
People are just a part of it, along with animals,
air, plants, and water. We just compliment it.
As long as we can know the limits to our space.
then solutions to world problems will benefit.
Musicians and writers want to save the world,
but there doesn’t seem to be enough money
or time. However changes can be effective if we
break problems down into those in each person’s life.
Then, battle by battle, human suffering ends.
as the scars heal with the end of the strife.
