Innocent Affair
I said to her an innocent
affair is a contradiction in terms.
I said it’s like a clean house,
except for just a few bugs or germs.
Either a spray is used and
the dirt is just wiped away,
or the settled dust collects
and is here to stay.
In her own special way,
I believe she understood.
Now it’s up to her to think
who she would want to keep.
