Life as a Door Knob

Life as a Door Knob

As a door knob
I have a swinging time.
all I need is oil in the
winter and I’ll be fine.
I’m always attached
to a solid door with
a smooth working latch.
I’m never alone.
When people come
to the house,
I’m the first thing they see.
In a furnished apartment,
I like the people I meet.
I know who to let in’
and those I should not.
The more people scream,
the longer I stay locked.
Life as a door knob
isn’t all that bad.
If I were a clock,
I’d go around in circles
and get mad.
