Just for the Money
Just for the Money

Just for the Money
I work this job just for the money,
And I’ve learned what I have to do
Even though it’s not the career I had
After going to several years of school.
Making the best of a difficult time
Means survival is the only rule
In this down-sized recession economy.
I work this job just for the money.
I work this job just for the money,
And I need to keep a roof over my head.
Some can’t seem to pay their mortgages
As the stocks fall deeper in the red.
Then the price of gas goes up while
people struggle to keep families fed.
In this down-sized recession economy.
I work this job just for the money.
I work this job just for the money,
And times are tough since I lost my old job.
Hundreds of thousands become unemployed
Each month in this country; lines are long.
The government is doing what it can,
But politicians argue over right and wrong
In this down-sized recession economy.
I work this job just for the money.
