Blast from the Past
With major films hitting the theaters, like the new Star Trek movie, taking a look back at the past and examining how characters got to the present, I will have a month or two of my own prequel at the World of Words by Elias Tobias. The poems I wrote in high school and the first years of college, especially the ones that were published, will be put on the web blog. Some daily blogs will contain several poems, since the older works are typically shorter.
The time to re-tool the web site took several days, so there were a few missed days last month that would have normally had posts. I apologize for those days. Also I have started a new full-time job, different than anything I’ve done before, and the time to get trained for it has left a few gaps in daily posts. However, each week this month will feature at least four poems per week: a Spanish poem, unpublished poems, and a previously published poem, linked to the publishing credits.
The publishing credits history page has been updated so that poems already on the web blog are now easily accessible, and as the older published poems appear, links to these poems will be set to the poems listed in the publishing credits.

Satellites
I am a satellite, one of thousands of moons on the earth.
Like the light from the Sun, I reflect the love of the Lord
and show through my actions there is another way to live.
It is a radical concept of giving without receiving,
and loving people while forgiving them at the same time.
We travel around the world on a mission for the Lord,
and we go to the lowest of valleys to the highest of mountains
carrying the message of an inner peace of another world
beyond the one we see and hear on a daily basis.
The killing and violence of this world stops there,
and what we do in this world affects us after we pass.
Good news is that anyone, regardless of the past, can
become a new person to serve the Lord and join the
thousands of other satellites circling the earth.

Satélites
Soy un satélite,
Uno de miles de lunas En la tierra.
Como la luz del Sol,
Reflejo el amor del Señor
Y muestro a través
De mis acciones que
Existe otra manera de vivir.
Es un concepto radical
De dar sin esperar nada á cambio,
Amar a la gente al tiempo que
La perdonas.
Viajamos alrededor del mundo en una
Misión para el Señor,
Y vamos de los valles mas bajos
A las más altas montañas llevarido
El mensaje de una paz interior
De otro mundo,
Más allá del que vmos y oÍmos diariamente.
Los asesinatos y la violencia de este
Mundo se detiene ahí, y lo que hacemos
En este mundo nos afecta cuando partimos.
La buena nueva es que todos,
sin importar el pasado,
Podemos convertirnos en nuevas personas
Para servir al Señor y unirnos a miles de
Otros satélites circundando la faz de la tierra.
